Rabo Ventures is the growth capital investment division of Rabobank International. We focus on investing in high-growth potential companies that enable the sustainable production and use of agricultural products for food, energy and materials.
At present, the world's food, energy, and material needs are largely dependent on finite resources. With an ever-growing population, rising standards of living, and inefficient supply chains quickly driving these resources into scarcity, we must transition towards sustainable resources and production methods in order to continue meeting our consumption needs.
Our two sustainable resource options are agriculture and renewable energy. Of the two only agriculture can provide a sustainable supply of food, energy and materials for the global economy.
We believe that a sustainable economy, built on a foundation of agriculture, is possible. The challenge we face is that we need to reduce the environmental impact of our supply chains, eliminate waste, and develop the technologies that enable the efficient conversion and use of agricultural products for food, energy and materials. New technology and business models will be required to support the transition towards, and long-term viability of, such an economy.
We are supporting the entrepreneurs and innovative companies that are making this transition possible. Our partnership with Rabobank and De Lage Landen allows us to tap into the extensive knowledge, network, and financial assets of the world's leaders in food and agricultural financing. Working closely with these partners we are able to unlock their powerful resources to support the growth of our portfolio companies.
If you are an innovative company with a product or service that is enabling the sustainable agricultural economy (food, energy, or materials), and you are in need of a partner to help support your growth, we would like to hear from you. Please see the contact us section for more information.
